Kolton O'Connor

Multimedia Sports Journalist

Sports and writing have always been my passion. I'm a 21-year-old journalist at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School, specializing in sports coverage with a focus on advanced analytics, transfer portal trends, and how communities respond to winning teams. I bring stories to life through rigorous reporting and multimedia journalism.

About Me

I'm a dedicated sports journalist passionate about covering the stories that matter to communities. My experience includes beat reporting for Arizona State's baseball team, where I've covered everything from the transfer portal's impact on recruitment to player profiles and series recaps.

Beyond sports statistics, I'm interested in the intersection of culture and athletics—how winning teams transform cities, how athletes navigate career transitions, and the human stories behind the scoreboard. I'm also skilled in multimedia journalism, including audio editing and social media engagement.

Outside of journalism, I'm passionate about fashion, music, and spending time with my dog and friends. I'm currently a junior at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, with an expected graduation in 2026.
